There are two parts to the final step of the research assignment: a) creating a narrated PowerPoint or other video, podcast, or written report b) reflecting on the project as a whole.

Part One

There are THREE options for your assignment. Regardless of the option that you choose, the goal of your assignment is to share the knowledge that you gathered during the course of your research and present it in a clear and cohesive manner.

Your assignment should be designed to teach a friend or family member about your topic in an accessible format. You can focus on the specific primary source, the author, one of the themes highlighted in your source… or all of the above. It is really up to you.

All assignments must include the following sections:

Information about your primary source:

  1. Name of primary source.
  2. Author (if known) and background.
  3. Time period.
  4. Geographic Location.
  5. Type of Source.
  6. Historical Significance (why is this source important in the context of world history?)

Bibliography

List the sources (written and visual) that you have used to complete your infographic/podcast/video/written report. This list should include all encyclopedia articles, journals articles, and your primary source. Remember to format your bibliography using the Chicago Manual of Style.

Options

Choose one of the following options:

Option 1 : Narrated powerpoint/Short Film

Option 2: Podcast

Option 3: Written Report

Part Two: Reflection and Self-Assessment
